Jakafi is used to treat people with polycythemia vera who have already taken hydroxyurea, but it did not work well enough or they could not tolerate it. Jakafi is also used to treat certain types of myelofibrosis.
Recommeded starting dosage of Jakafi based on platelet count. A complete blood count (CBC) and platelet count must be performed before initiating therapy, every 2 to 4 weeks until doses are stabilized. Doses must be taken orally twice daily.Read More >>
