Avella and the American Liver Foundation announce new webinar about the role of specialty pharmacies in hepatitis C management. Interactive presentation will help patients, families and providers understand how specialty pharmacies contribute to the effective treatment of hepatitis C. 

Avella Specialty Pharmacy and the American Liver Foundation (ALF) have teamed up to offer a new ALF_logo_7eb34845-760c-4bb3-b5b4-1ada2f3a3a4e-prv.jpg webinar designed to educate and inform individuals whose lives are impacted by hepatitis C. Entitled Accessing and Managing Hepatitis C Treatment: Benefits of Working with a Specialty Pharmacy, this presentation is the latest in a series of webinars sponsored by ALF in conjunction with patient advocates and experts from leading healthcare organizations.  

Coinciding with National Hepatitis Awareness Month, the webinar will take place Thursday, May 28 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The program will cover the types of services hepatitis C, liver disease and liver transplant patients can expect from specialty pharmacies and provide practical tips on how best to work with them.  Patients as well as their caregivers, family members and providers are encouraged to attend. At the conclusion of the webinar, there will be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions and interact with the speakers.

The presentation will be led by two leading experts in the field of hepatitis C management. Eric Sredzinski, Pharm.D., AAHIVP, from Avella Specialty Pharmacy will be discussing topics such as the basics of how specialty pharmacies work, the services they offer to patients and how these pharmacies provide value beyond just offering the latest medications.

Kaya M. MacMillan, DHSc, MPAS, PA-C, from Banner University Medical Center, Phoenix, AZ will provide practical tips on working with specialty pharmacies based on her years of clinical experience with hepatitis C and transplant patients.
